The energy and excitement of all of you who support our beloved Lamont School of Music and Theatre is absolutely exhilarating! We’ve grown our donor base, our dollar contributions have increased, and our participation in events is revitalized.

The Lamont Society Council - the Society’s volunteer leadership board - is excited to be working with our Director, Brian Pertl, to improve and expand the ways in which donors engage with and support the school. This current year will highlight a new and improved Day at Lamont, as well as other longstanding activities like the Provost Concert and Lamont Showcase - both in more expansive and inclusive formats.

Last year, the Council and Brian created a challenge gift to encourage graduating students to begin their philanthropic orientation to Lamont (which we know helps initiate long-term giving). About 100 students participated, and over $14,000 was raised to dramatically upgrade the Hamilton webcast technology. We’ll put together another challenge next spring!

There are so many ways we can support Lamont. Donations to dozens of specific funds provide targeted help for students, and our unrestricted gifts help provide a world-class faculty, as well as the operation of what is probably the most impressive home to ANY music school in the country. As Lamont Society donors, our dollars are needed and deeply appreciated. Please attend any of the hundreds of Lamont programs and activities. To experience students and faculty in action is pure joy.
